Cincinnati, OH – Periods of light rainfall are expected across the Ohio Valley through the next 10 days, while lingering minor flooding concerns in parts of southern Indiana are forecast to improve by the end of the week.

According to the National Weather Service Ohio River Forecast Center, a series of weak weather systems will bring occasional rainfall from Tuesday, May 12, through Wednesday, May 21. While rain will be fairly widespread at times, impacts are expected to remain minimal overall.

River levels across much of the Ohio River basin, including areas in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and western Pennsylvania, are expected to remain near normal levels. However, pockets of minor flooding currently affecting southern Indiana are expected to gradually recede, with conditions improving by Friday, May 15.

Forecast models indicate no significant or prolonged heavy rainfall events during this period, reducing the risk of additional flooding concerns across the region.

Communities along the Ohio River and its tributaries should continue to monitor river levels, but widespread flooding is not anticipated. The overall pattern suggests a steady, manageable water flow with only minor fluctuations as periodic rain moves through.

Residents in previously affected flood-prone areas, especially in southern Indiana, are expected to see improving conditions as water levels slowly drop later this week.

While the forecast remains relatively quiet in terms of major hazards, officials encourage continued awareness, particularly during periods of rainfall that could briefly elevate local water levels.
