Macon, GA – A pedestrian was killed in a Sunday night crash in Bibb County, and authorities say the driver involved has been arrested on a DUI charge.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred around 9:28 p.m. Sunday on Eisenhower Parkway at the intersection of Heron Street. Deputies say a Chevrolet Camaro traveling westbound struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the roadway.
Officials identified the victim as a 62-year-old man from Macon who was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner. Authorities confirmed that his next of kin has been notified.
Investigators say the driver, identified as Dadrean Rashard Felton of Macon, was taken into custody after deputies suspected he was under the influence of alcohol. He has been charged with driving under the influence and is currently being held without bond.
According to officials, no other injuries were reported in the incident.
