Winnipeg, Manitoba – A violent incident at a Winnipeg hospital has left three healthcare workers assaulted and shaken, after a patient was taken into custody early Thursday morning.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers responded around 2:00 a.m. on May 1 to a hospital in the 300 block of Booth Drive, where a 59-year-old man was arrested following a series of alleged assaults and threats against staff.

Police say the incidents occurred between April 30 and May 1 while the man was receiving treatment. During that time, he allegedly behaved aggressively and made sexually inappropriate comments toward healthcare workers. As his behavior escalated, hospital security placed him in restraints.
