Manvel, ND – An early morning truck fire briefly shut down a stretch of Interstate 29 near Manvel in Grand Forks County, causing short delays for southbound drivers before the roadway quickly reopened.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 12:37 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026, near mile marker 159. Authorities said a truck hauling steel pipe was traveling southbound when the trailer caught fire for an unknown reason.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Drivers are reminded to stay alert for warning signs such as smoke, unusual odors, or mechanical issues and to pull over safely if concerns arise.
