Santa Paula, California – A long-running community tradition is set to return to downtown Santa Paula this week as Cruise Night 2026 kicks off its season with classic cars, live music, and family-friendly activities.
According to the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce, the season opener will take place Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. along Main Street, marking the start of the event’s 25th year. The free monthly series draws residents and visitors from across Ventura, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.
Cruise Night features a wide range of vintage vehicles, including hot rods, muscle cars, low-riders, and classic imports, with participation open to pre-1981 cars at no cost. Organizers say the event transforms downtown into a lively gathering space, with local shops and restaurants staying open late to accommodate visitors.
The 2026 schedule includes events on the first Friday of May, June, August, September, and October, with no July event due to the Independence Day holiday.
Opening night will include a live performance from Johnny and the Love Handles, a Ventura County-based blues and rock band performing near the Main Street clock tower.
City officials say the event continues to serve as a major draw for tourism and local engagement. Organizers note that Cruise Night has grown over the past two decades into one of Ventura County’s most recognized automotive events, attracting thousands of attendees each season.
The series is hosted through a partnership between the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce and the City of Santa Paula, with support from local sponsors helping keep the event free and accessible to the public.
