Dyer Speedway Gas Station Robbery: Police Seek Information on Shotgun-Wielding Suspect

Dyer, IN – In a startling early morning heist last week, the Dyer Police Department reports an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas Station on Joliet Street. 

According to police reports it began about 3:29 a.m. on December 21st when a man brandishing a shotgun demanded cash and cigarettes from the gas station clerk. Fleeing in a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser with around $481 and 29 packs of cigarettes, the suspect was last seen heading west on U.S. 30 towards Illinois. 

Chief William Alcott of the Dyer Metropolitan Police Department is appealing to the public for any leads. Those with information are encouraged to contact the police at (219) 865-1163.
