Cheyenne, Wyoming – Rain and snow showers will begin impacting travel across southeast Wyoming early Monday morning, with wet roads and reduced visibility likely along Interstate 25 and Interstate 80 through the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, multiple weather systems will move through the region this week following a cold front Sunday night. Monday carries a 50% to 70% chance of precipitation, with highs between 41 and 51 degrees east of I-25 and slightly cooler west. Periods of rain and snow showers will continue into Tuesday, when temperatures rise into the upper 40s to near 60 degrees.
Cities including Cheyenne, Laramie, and Rawlins should expect on-and-off precipitation through midweek. Wednesday brings a mix of rain and snow with highs reaching near 60 degrees, followed by another system Thursday that could turn precipitation back to a rain-snow mix as cooler air returns. Roads along I-80 near Arlington and Elk Mountain may become slick during heavier bursts.
Drivers should allow extra time, especially during morning and evening commutes, and watch for sudden visibility drops in showers. Keep devices charged and monitor road conditions through Wyoming 511.
Conditions begin to dry out by Friday, though isolated rain showers may linger. Additional advisories are possible as each system moves through.
