Brevard County, Florida – A high-speed traffic stop on Interstate 95 led to multiple charges after deputies reported dangerous driving behavior.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy McLaughlin was responding to reports of a reckless driver when he encountered a separate vehicle allegedly traveling at extreme speeds on I-95. Authorities said the driver, identified as Sallyann Lombardi, was initially observed tailgating vehicles and making unsafe lane changes, nearly causing a crash.

Deputies reported Lombardi allegedly accelerated to 107 mph in the right lane before increasing speed to approximately 112 mph after changing lanes. A traffic stop was conducted without further incident.

During a subsequent inventory search of the vehicle, deputies said they located two small baggies containing a white powdery substance. The substance field-tested positive for cocaine, according to the sheriff’s office.

Lombardi was charged with speeding, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance. Officials emphasized that all charges are allegations, and the case remains subject to the judicial process.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about high-speed driving along the I-95 corridor, a major route used by daily commuters and long-distance travelers. Law enforcement continues to stress the risks associated with excessive speed and aggressive driving behaviors.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
