Wreaths Across America Event in Kankakee County Honors Veterans, Seeks Volunteers

Kankakee, IL – Wreaths Across America, a nationwide effort to honor veterans during the holiday season, is set to make a significant appearance in Kankakee County this weekend. 

According to local organizer Lori Teders, Hoekstra Transportation, a respected local company, will be sending a truck to assist in transporting wreaths for this noble cause. Volunteers interested in laying wreaths on veterans’ graves are invited to gather at the Herscher American Legion at 11 a.m. on Saturday. 

Following a brief ceremony, volunteers will form groups to visit and honor veterans at 10 different cemeteries in the area. For further information about this event, Lori Teders can be contacted at 815-955-3375.
