Molina, Colorado — Deputies arrested a Molina-area woman Friday after a restraining order call led to a search.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, to a private residence on JE 3/10 Road near 56 and KK Roads following a report of a possible restraining order violation.
Investigators said deputies initially spoke with two adults at the property who advised that Nicole Parks, 35, of Grand Junction, had been involved in an incident before leaving the area prior to law enforcement arriving.
When deputies arrived, Parks allegedly fled from the property. During the response, deputies learned she also had an outstanding felony warrant, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies began tracking Parks across rugged terrain on the Grand Mesa in winter weather conditions, authorities said. The search involved following tracks through the area until deputies eventually located her hiding inside a nearby residential home.
During the course of the investigation, deputies also recovered a stolen handgun, according to officials.
Parks was taken into custody and transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where she was booked on several charges, including:
- Second-degree burglary of a dwelling (Felony 3)
- Possession of a weapon by a previous offender (Felony 5)
- Resisting arrest (Misdemeanor 2)
- Violation of a protection order (two counts, misdemeanor)
- Outstanding warrant
A De Beque marshal also assisted deputies during the incident.
Authorities said no further information is currently being released regarding the arrest.
The case highlights ongoing law enforcement responses in rural Mesa County areas, where deputies may cover large distances and challenging terrain during investigations — something that can affect commuters, workers, and students traveling through the Grand Mesa region.
