Lane County, OR — Detectives recovered multiple stolen firearms while investigating a January burglary along Highway 36.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after a homeowner in the 15700 block of Highway 36 in Deadwood reported a burglary on Thursday, Jan. 30. Several firearms and other items were allegedly stolen from the residence.

Investigators soon identified possible suspects and a vehicle using the victim’s security video, authorities said.

On Wednesday, Feb. 12, an Oregon State Police detective located the suspect vehicle near Armitage Park north of Eugene, where Tina Jean Devault, 57, of Noti, was allegedly occupying it. During a search of the vehicle, detectives reportedly found about one pound of methamphetamine. Devault was arrested on a parole violation warrant tied to prior drug convictions, and additional charges including possession and delivery of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine were later filed, according to officials.

Detectives later served a search warrant at a property in the 21400 block of Highway 126 east of Noti. During that operation, Beau Russell Anderson, 38, of Noti, was allegedly found in possession of a firearm and arrested.

Authorities said Anderson was booked into jail on charges including second-degree burglary, first-degree aggravated theft, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators returned to the property on Thursday, Feb. 13, where they located nine stolen firearms and ammunition believed to be connected to the burglary.

However, detectives say Gilbert Devault, 61, of Noti, remains outstanding. He is allegedly connected to the case and several firearms have not yet been recovered. Devault is described as 5’10”, about 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Authorities believe he may have been staying near the 23000 block of Green Creek Road but was not located during a search.

Anyone with information about Devault’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lane County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 541-682-4150, option 1.

For many commuters and students traveling the Highway 36 and Highway 126 corridors, the investigation highlights ongoing public safety concerns tied to rural property crimes.
