Two Teens Arrested Following Shooting in Peoria, High School Incident

PEORIA, IL – Two 16-year-old teens were arrested Wednesday by Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in connection with recent shootings.

According to police reports, the arrests occurred around 2:15 p.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of W. Nebraska, Peoria, Illinois. An operation led to the discovery of firearms and extended magazines during a subsequent search of the premises.

One of the juveniles is implicated in two recent shootings, including an alleged incident at Manual High School on Tuesday and another on November 9. He faces charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The second juvenile is charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon under 21 and had active warrants. Details on the incident at the High School have not been released.  

Both were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. The Peoria Police Department encourages anyone with information on violent crimes to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
