PHOENIX, Ariz. – Six luxury vehicles valued at $700,000 were recovered in Queen Creek during a vehicle theft and fraud investigation, authorities said.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, detectives with the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force (VTTF) executed a search warrant on Feb. 5 in Queen Creek. Investigators recovered six high-value vehicles connected to the case.
Officials said one vehicle had been reported stolen, while five others were allegedly acquired through fraudulent means. The recovered vehicles include Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz luxury models with an estimated combined value of approximately $700,000.
VTTF officials emphasized that obtaining vehicles through fraudulent transactions is treated the same as traditional vehicle theft under Arizona law. Individuals involved in such schemes will be prosecuted accordingly, authorities said.
“The VTTF remains committed to protecting Arizona consumers and businesses from vehicle theft in all its forms,” said Captain Trevor Graff, district commander of the VTTF. “Fraudulent purchases are not victimless crimes, and we will continue to pursue those who attempt to exploit private sellers, lenders and dealerships.”
The Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force works on behalf of the Arizona Automobile Theft Authority and is supported by annual grant funding to deter vehicle theft statewide through enforcement and public awareness efforts.
The case remains under investigation.
Young drivers and car buyers are often targeted in vehicle fraud schemes, officials caution.
