Davidson County, North Carolina – A monthlong undercover drug operation led to 21 arrests across Davidson County, prompting ongoing investigations and additional pending charges.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Davidson Anti-Drug Regional Task Force (DART), with assistance from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division, conducted “Operation Clean Sweep” throughout February in response to citizen complaints about local drug activity.
Investigators said undercover officers conducted controlled drug purchases targeting individuals allegedly involved in street-level narcotics distribution and repeat drug offenses. Authorities reported that substances purchased during the operation included marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
As of Feb. 26, 21 individuals had been arrested, with three additional suspects reportedly facing outstanding warrants. Investigators said further arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.
During the operation, authorities executed a search warrant at 106 Winston St. in Thomasville, where marijuana, U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia were allegedly seized.
One individual charged during the operation, 24-year-old Jah Jermaine Carolina, was later charged with murder in Forsyth County and is currently being held in Louisiana pending extradition to North Carolina, according to investigators.
DART officials said the coordinated effort involved the Sheriff’s Office, Lexington Police Department, Thomasville Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Authorities encouraged residents to report suspected drug activity to local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains active.
