Florence County, SC – Two people were arrested Tuesday after narcotics investigators executed a search warrant in Coward, allegedly seizing fentanyl, cocaine base and methamphetamine.

According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, the warrant was served Feb. 24 at a residence on Ben Gause Road following a monthslong undercover investigation prompted by citizen complaints.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Bureau and Street Crimes Unit reportedly located illegal narcotics during the search.

James David Hendricks III, 23, of Coward, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine base and distribution of fentanyl, according to authorities. Jada Cally Ford, 25, of Pamplico, was also arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Authorities said both suspects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending bond hearings.

The Sheriff’s Office cited South Carolina code sections related to possession of controlled substances and distribution of fentanyl. Additional details are available through the Florence County Sheriff’s Office booking records.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Cases involving fentanyl distribution continue to draw concern across Florence County due to the drug’s role in overdose deaths statewide.
