Spotsylvania County, VA – A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly exposing himself near a school, prompting a law enforcement response.
According to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to the YMCA in the 5700 block of Smith Station Road following reports of a white male exposing himself inside the women’s locker room.
Deputies said the suspect left the building before officers arrived and was later located walking on an adjacent school property. He was identified as Konner Mickle, 20, of Spotsylvania. Authorities said he was wearing a full-face mask at the time.
When deputies approached him, Mickle allegedly attempted to flee but was quickly detained.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found metal knuckles concealed on his person and reported that he appeared intoxicated. Alcohol was also allegedly found in his possession.
Mickle was charged with indecent exposure, felony wearing of a mask in public, obstruction of justice, concealed weapon, possession of a weapon on school property, profane swearing or public intoxication, and underage possession of alcohol.
Authorities said there was no interaction with school staff or students, as the incident occurred before school operations began.
Mickle was remanded to Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
The incident may raise safety awareness for early-morning gym users and commuters in the area.
