Authorities said agents received a “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) report Feb. 14 describing a suspect allegedly selling drugs in the 500 block of Bourbon Street. On Feb. 15 at approximately 5 p.m., agents located a man matching the description and attempted contact. Officials said Crittindon allegedly resisted during a brief struggle.
Following the encounter, agents reported discovering 36 grams of suspected cocaine, 41.9 grams of suspected marijuana, and $2,138 in cash. The narcotics and cash were seized as evidence.
Crittindon was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail on charges including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and resisting an officer, according to LDWF.
Authorities stated that possession with intent to distribute cocaine carries penalties of up to $50,000 in fines and up to 10 years in prison. Resisting an officer may carry additional fines and jail time.
The arrest occurred in a heavily trafficked tourism and nightlife area frequented by students and young workers.
