Davidson County, NC – Two residents were arrested after detectives seized stolen vehicles and a rifle during a joint investigation Wednesday.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, members of the T.R.A.C.E. Team worked with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Interdiction Team on Feb. 4 to investigate the reported theft of two vehicles — a 1988 Chevrolet truck and a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air — taken during a residential breaking and entering in Randolph County.
Detectives identified 2138 Blackberry Road in Thomasville as a location connected to the stolen vehicles. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators reportedly recovered both vehicles and a .22-caliber rifle at the residence.
Authorities said the vehicles and firearm were allegedly in the possession of Frankie Bowman, 50, and Amy Hancock, 47, who both reside at the address.
Bowman and Hancock were arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, according to the sheriff’s office. Both were transported to the Davidson County Jail and held without bond.
Officials stated the vehicles were returned to Randolph County investigators. The investigation remains ongoing.
Under North Carolina General Statute 15A-532, bond conditions are determined by judicial officials. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The case may be of particular interest to residents in Thomasville neighborhoods where the search warrant was executed.
