According to a press release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began Friday, January 23, 2026, after authorities received a report regarding the alleged dissemination of obscenities to a juvenile female.

As the investigation progressed, Phillip Westley Lones, 38, of Thomasville, was identified as the alleged offender. Arrest warrants were issued charging Lones with two counts of felony dissemination of obscenities to a minor.

On Thursday, February 5, members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Lones on the outstanding warrants. Authorities said he was taken into custody at approximately 12:05 p.m. at his place of employment in Kernersville without incident.

Lones was transported to the Davidson County Magistrate’s Office in Lexington, where he received a $5,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on Friday, February 6.
