Fort Myers, Florida – A Lehigh Acres man faces felony charges after allegedly sending written threats to kill following a workplace dispute in Lee County.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded over the weekend to a service call involving threatening messages connected to a business on Alico Trade Center Road in Fort Myers.

Investigators said a verbal dispute had taken place earlier in the week between coworkers. After the argument, one of the individuals allegedly began sending text messages and posting on social media threatening to harm a coworker and others at the workplace.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno credited a coworker who was not involved in the dispute with coming forward and providing key information that helped deputies intervene before the situation escalated.

Through investigative efforts, deputies located the suspect, identified as Timothy West, at his residence and took him into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

West was charged with Written Electronic Threat to Kill / Mass Shooting and transported to the Lee County Jail. Authorities said the 3rd Precinct Crime Section assumed control of the investigation due to the seriousness of the allegations.

According to investigators, the case remains under review.

Workplace-related threats can disrupt businesses and affect employees across multiple shifts, including young workers and recent hires.
