Harris County, Texas — A hit-and-run crash on Kuykendahl Road early Friday killed a motorized bicycle rider, prompting an active search for the driver involved.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 4:28 a.m. on the 15200 block of Kuykendahl Road in north Harris County. Deputies said 54-year-old Mark Conti was riding a motorized bicycle northbound when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.

Investigators said the driver allegedly failed to stop and render aid, continuing northbound on Kuykendahl Road after the collision. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash and pronounced Conti deceased at the scene.

The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division. Authorities have released a photo of the victim and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver and vehicle involved.

Kuykendahl Road is a heavily traveled commuter route, and the early-morning timing may place other motorists in the area at the time of the crash.
