According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assigned to the Lamont Substation responded around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, to reports of an armed robbery at a business in the 8200 block of Kimber Avenue.
Investigators said an unknown Hispanic male allegedly entered the business, brandished a firearm toward employees, and demanded currency. The suspect then reportedly fled the location toward a black sedan occupied by two additional Hispanic male suspects.
Deputies from the Lamont Substation, with assistance from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Gang Suppression Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit, continued investigating the incident over the following weeks.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, deputies served a search warrant in the 2100 block of Oakwood Drive in connection with the robbery, sheriff’s officials said.
As a result of the investigation, deputies identified and arrested Dominic Galvan, 23; Edward Armendariz, 46; and Richard Hernandez, 40. All three were allegedly involved in the armed robbery.
Sheriff’s officials said the suspects were arrested on multiple charges, including Penal Code 212.5 for robbery, Penal Code 245(a)(2) for assault with a deadly weapon, Penal Code 182 for conspiracy, and Penal Code 186.22(a) for alleged participation in a criminal street gang.
No injuries were reported in the robbery, and investigators did not immediately release information on whether a firearm was recovered.
