Indianapolis, Indiana – IMPD detectives disrupted a sex trafficking ring, rescuing two victims and arresting a fourth suspect following a months-long investigation.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Vice and Human Trafficking detectives were called to a hotel in August 2025 for a welfare check involving a teenage girl. Officers spoke with the teen for several minutes and began to recognize indicators of potential sex trafficking. With the victim’s cooperation, officers identified two hotel rooms believed to be connected to the suspect and a possible second victim.
After contacting the occupants of both rooms, 31-year-old Lovie Grace and 18-year-old Tamya McKinney were taken into custody. Detectives responded to the scene and conducted a search, speaking with several individuals. Police said Grace had keys to both rooms and a large amount of cash in his possession.
That same day, Grace was arrested on charges including rape, promotion of human sexual trafficking, criminal confinement, human trafficking, battery with injury, and possession of cocaine.
The following day, a second victim contacted detectives with additional information. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for McKinney on a charge of promoting prostitution, and she was arrested three days later.
During the investigation, detectives identified a third suspect, 29-year-old Kayla Willoughby, who was later arrested on charges of promoting human sexual trafficking, prostitution, human trafficking, and promoting prostitution.
Detectives continued pursuing additional leads and developed a fourth suspect. On January 28, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for 31-year-old Tyree White on charges of rape, human trafficking, and making an unlawful proposition. On February 3, East District Violent Crimes Task Force detectives located White, who was arrested after speaking with investigators.
IMPD said the case highlights the importance of victim cooperation and sustained investigative work.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make final charging decisions. All arrests and charges are allegations, and the suspects should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
