According to the department, Deputy W. Sneddon responded to the burglary call on January 29, 2026. During his investigation, he followed up on several leads and requested assistance from Cpl. Howard and his K-9 partner, Scio. The tracking team led deputies to the suspect, identified as Rusty Riley.
Riley was taken into custody and charged with destruction of property, burglary, and obstructing. The Sophia Police Department also assisted in the apprehension.
