Portland, OR – A major wildlife poaching investigation in Oregon has led to a large seizure of weapons, stolen property, and drugs, according to the Oregon State Police.

Authorities say a Fish & Wildlife sergeant, acting on a tip from the Oregon Department of Transportation, discovered a dump site containing deer remains. Evidence collected there linked the case to a suspect, prompting the East Valley Fish and Wildlife Team to execute a search warrant with help from detectives, troopers, and SWAT officers.

According to police, the suspect — a convicted felon — was found with multiple deer heads and meat from deer, elk, bear, and ducks, none of which had proper documentation. Investigators say the man admitted to illegally killing deer near the Sandy River Delta in 2025 and knowingly violating hunting laws.

Officers also seized a stolen Mount Hood National Forest sign, a stolen 9mm handgun, ammunition, crossbows, compound bows, spotlights, and more than 70 grams of methamphetamine. Additional meat and a deer head were reportedly recovered from another suspect’s residence.

The case remains under investigation.
