Thorntown, IN – A serious injury crash late Thursday morning sent three people to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road 75 and State Road 47, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 11:34 a.m. on January 24, 2026, when deputies responded to a collision involving a 2014 white Honda CR-V driven by Derek Crews, 43, of West Lafayette, and a 2011 gray Ford F-150 driven by Brian Bell, 44, of Crawfordsville. Donita Bell, 43, also of Crawfordsville, was a passenger in the pickup.

According to the sheriff’s office, all occupants sustained serious bodily injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Due to the extent of the injuries and circumstances surrounding the crash, the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) was contacted to assist with the investigation. The incident remains under investigation as of Thursday afternoon.
