Millsboro, Delaware – Two Millsboro men are facing multiple felony drug and weapon charges after a search warrant executed Thursday uncovered narcotics, firearms, and drug paraphernalia inside a local residence.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers arrested Douglas Clay, 66, and Kenneth Peters, 59, both of Millsboro, following a January 22, Friday search at a home in the 30000 block of Friendship Road. Authorities say the warrant stemmed from an investigation into alleged drug distribution operating out of the residence.
The search was conducted by the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team. Police reported both men were detained without incident during the operation.
Investigators say the search led to the seizure of approximately 8.41 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 0.05 grams of methamphetamine, and 0.01 grams of crack cocaine, along with a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia. Police also reported recovering a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, and two large fixed-blade knives.
Clay was taken into custody and transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with several felonies, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a destructive weapon, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, according to police. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $19,000 secured bond.
Peters was also charged with multiple felony drug offenses, including two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, police said. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $48,700 cash bond.
All charges remain allegations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
