Madison, WI – Four Madison residents have been arrested and charged in connection with a series of graffiti incidents that caused more than $10,000 in damage across the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, according to the UW–Madison Police Department.

According to UWPD, the arrests follow a year-and-a-half-long investigation into at least eight separate vandalism cases. The graffiti appeared at several prominent campus locations, including Bascom Hall, Library Mall, Witte Hall, Camp Randall Stadium, and the Southwest Commuter Path. Officials say the most significant damage occurred during incidents on September 12, 2025.

During court proceedings this week, the Dane County District Attorney’s Office formally charged four individuals: Zebulun Fazel, 24; Genevieve Karamanski, 22; Kareem Mayouf, 26; and William Wambles, 20 — all from Madison. None of them are currently affiliated with UW–Madison. Charges include multiple counts of felony and misdemeanor graffiti, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage.

As part of the ongoing investigation, UWPD executed a search warrant at the residence of some suspects, recovering evidence connected to the graffiti cases, along with two handguns and an AR-15 rifle. Investigators are also working with nearby police departments, as the group may be linked to additional off-campus graffiti incidents.

Anyone with information is urged to contact UWPD at (608) 264-2677.
