Pontiac Man Sentenced to 20 Years After Over One Pound of Methamphetamine Seized

PONTIAC, Ill. – Sergio Contreras, a 25-year-old resident of Pontiac, has been handed a 20-year prison sentence following the discovery of over one pound of methamphetamine in February 2022. 

Contreras, who pleaded guilty to delivering between 100 and 400 grams of meth, along with an additional charge of meth delivery between 15 and 100 grams, will serve 75 percent of his sentence.

The investigation leading to Contreras’ arrest was a collaborative effort involving the Chatsworth Police Department, Fairbury Police Department, Pontiac Police Department, Dwight Police Department, and the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team. 

Their joint operation successfully seized a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, weighing a total of 456 grams.
