Naperville, IL – A Naperville woman reported missing has been identified as the deceased individual found last month in the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve.

According to the DuPage County Coroner’s Office, human remains discovered on August 14 were confirmed to be those of Olasinmibo Adunni Abosede, known to family and friends as “Sinmi.” The 46-year-old Naperville resident was identified through dental records. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

The identification ends a difficult waiting period for Abosede’s family, who expressed gratitude for the outpouring of community support during her disappearance. They are now asking for privacy as they mourn her loss.

Coroner Judith Lukas acknowledged the assistance of Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres, Detective Melynda Chlebek, and DuPage County Forest Preserve Police Chief David Pederson, along with Detective Nadia Saracco, for their roles in the case. Lukas said multiple agencies worked collaboratively to search for Abosede and ultimately confirm her identity.

The family described Sinmi as a cherished wife, mother, and friend, remembered for her warmth and the deep connections she shared in the community.

The investigation into her death remains active.
