Bolingbrook, IL – Traffic came to a standstill today on I-55 northbound near Bolingbrook following a crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer, according to the Illinois State Police.
According to a statement from Illinois State Police Troop 3, the crash occurred at milepost 270 northeast of the I-355 interchange in DuPage County. The incident prompted the closure of all I-55 northbound lanes at Woodward Avenue. Additionally, the I-355 northbound ramp to I-55 northbound has also been shut down.
Troopers responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported, and crews are currently working to remove the overturned vehicle and clear the roadway. No injuries have been reported as of this time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while the cleanup and investigation continue. There is currently no estimate for when the affected lanes will reopen.
