La Porte, IN – A traffic stop late Monday night in La Porte County led to the arrest of two individuals wanted on a combined total of 11 warrants, according to law enforcement officials.

According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Austin Wells initiated the stop at 11:14 p.m. on US 20 near CR 125 West after confirming a westbound vehicle was speeding. The driver reportedly identified himself as “Torris” HEAD, while a rear passenger identified herself as Shantae S. SPENCER, 31.

Deputies later confirmed “Torris” was an alias for 61-year-old Aaron L. HEAD, who, along with SPENCER, was found to be wanted on multiple charges. HEAD faces two new felony charges—possession of cocaine and identity deception—along with nine arrest warrants for offenses including kidnapping, fraud, theft, and failure to appear.

SPENCER was also taken into custody on two warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply.

Both suspects were transported to the La Porte County Jail and are being held without bond. Arresting deputies were assisted by Michigan City police officers.

Authorities emphasize that all charges remain allegations. Individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
