Pocahontas, IL – An Illinois woman’s vacation turned tragic after a shuttle bus accident in Hawaii led to her death and left her husband seriously injured. Dianna Cricelli, 68, of Pocahontas, was celebrating her 46th wedding anniversary when the shuttle bus struck a group of people near a cruise port in Honolulu. Dianna succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital, while her husband, 66-year-old Frank Cricelli, remains hospitalized.

According to Honolulu police, the incident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Friday in a parking lot designated for cruise ship passengers. Witnesses reported that the bus driver accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to lurch forward into the crowd. Three other individuals were also seriously injured in the crash, and several others sustained minor injuries.

The family, devastated by the loss, has requested privacy during this difficult time. The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii is providing support to the injured visitors, all of whom are from Illinois. Meanwhile, Honolulu police are investigating the exact cause of the crash, including whether impairment played a role in the incident.
