Indianapolis Woman Rescued After 30-Foot Fall from Gazebo into Wooded Area

Indianapolis, IN – A woman is in serious but stable condition after falling approximately 30 feet from a gazebo into a wooded area below at 4340 E 82nd St, Indianapolis. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, prompting a complex rescue operation by the Indianapolis Fire Department.

According to the fire department, the Tactical Team 14 conducted a high-angle rope rescue to reach the 44-year-old victim. Firefighters had to clear the dense brush with chainsaws to access the area and used various anchor points to set up the rescue system. The woman was safely extracted within about 30 minutes and transported to a local hospital by Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
