Zion, IL – Emergency crews were summoned April 25th to a daycare in Zion, IL, following reports of a three-month-old child unresponsive.

According to Zion Police, the daycare owner was performing CPR when Zion Fire & Rescue and police arrived. Despite resuscitation efforts and immediate medical attention at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, the child sadly passed away on Sunday.

An autopsy conducted did not initially indicate foul play, with the cause of death still under investigation, awaiting further lab results.

The Zion Police Department, aided by the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, has found no evidence of criminal activity thus far, though the investigation remains active. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
