Will County, IL – The Forest Preserve District of Will County is offering a unique way to commemorate an unusual natural event—the simultaneous emergence of 17-year and 13-year cicada broods, a phenomenon not seen since 1803. Themed T-shirts, featuring the slogan “Be Loud, Be Proud,” are now available for $20 at OutsiderThreads.com. To sweeten the deal, customers spending at least $50 can enjoy a 20% discount using the promo code Spend50 through April 28.

This rare overlap of cicada broods, not expected to recur until 2245, promises a particularly vibrant summer in Will County. In anticipation, the Forest Preserve has expanded its merchandise line to include new designs for all ages, such as “Little Stinker” skunk shirts for kids and coordinating “Big Stinker” shirts for adults.

Further opportunities to purchase these and other nature-themed items will be at The Nature Foundation of Will County’s native plant sale in Romeoville this May and at various Fun & Food Truck events throughout the summer. All proceeds support the Forest Preserve District’s conservation, restoration, and education efforts.
