Peoria, IL – Two Women Arrested Following Massive Juvenile Brawl

Peoria, IL – A significant disturbance involving approximately 30 juveniles on Saturday led to the arrest of two adults in Peoria, Illinois. 

According the Peoria Police Department reports it was around 6:58 PM on Saturday when officers responded to reports of a large fight in the 1300 block of Bestor Street. Officers were alerted to a female participant allegedly displaying a handgun during the confrontation. Upon arrival, police witnessed numerous juveniles engaged in a fight. The group dispersed upon police intervention, leaving behind a female juvenile with a head injury. She reported being struck with a gun multiple times. Three juveniles were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of 56-year-old Ella M. Washington and 37-year-old Antoniss G. Cooley on charges of mob action. Cooley faces additional charges of aggravated battery. Both were taken to Peoria County Jail. Authorities have not recovered the alleged weapon and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Peoria Police Department.
