Kane County Sheriff Debunks False Active Shooter Alert at Kaneland High School

Maple Park, IL — Kane County authorities have swiftly addressed concerns following a false social media claim Friday suggesting an active shooter at Kaneland High School. 

Despite the alarming post, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that there is no active threat at the school. Officers, including the school’s assigned resource officer, were promptly deployed to the site to ensure safety and have verified the claim as baseless. 

The School District (D302) is actively investigating the origin of the misleading Facebook group post to prevent future misinformation, working closely with local law enforcement to maintain community safety and trust.
