Naperville, IL – Juvenile Charged Following Shooting Incident

Naperville, IL – A juvenile has been charged in connection with a shooting in Naperville that occurred on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Police were called to the scene at the 2500 block of Leach Dr. around 1:30 p.m. after a gunshot victim was reported.

The incident began when two individuals, known to the victim, arrived at the residence. A struggle ensued, resulting in the victim being shot in the leg. Both suspects fled on foot.

Naperville police later apprehended one of the suspects, a juvenile, who has since been charged with aggravated robbery. The juvenile was transferred to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center and appeared at a detention hearing today. They have been remanded in custody with a court date scheduled for May 1, 2024.

The investigation continues as police seek the second suspect involved in the incident. The Naperville Police Department thanks the community and the Indian Prairie School District 204 for their assistance. They also remind the public and media that the charge against the juvenile is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
