Urbana, IL – Shots Fired Near School, Urbana Apartment Complex, Police Seek Leads

Urbana, IL — Urbana Police responded to gunfire on Thursday near Booker T. Washington School and Hamilton on the Park Apartments. 

According to Urbana police reports the incident, reported around 12:03 PM on the 1200-1300 block of Brookstone Court, led to the discovery of four shell casings at the apartment complex’s entrance and a damaged office window. The connection to the nearby school remains unconfirmed, and the motive behind the shooting is still unclear, with no victims coming forward thus far.

According to the Urbana Police Department, there was significant vehicle and foot traffic in the area during the incident. Authorities continue their investigation and emphasize the importance of community assistance.
