Riverton, WY – Snowfall across Wyoming is expected to create hazardous conditions through Monday morning, with significant accumulations forecast for several regions. Motorists and outdoor enthusiasts are urged to plan accordingly.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), areas including Yellowstone National Park, the Absaroka and Wind River Mountains, and the Upper Green River Basin Foothills will see additional snow accumulations ranging from 3 to 14 inches in lower elevations to up to 30 inches in mountainous regions. Winds gusting between 15 and 40 mph will further reduce visibility, creating dangerous travel conditions on roads like South Pass and Chief Joseph Pass.

Residents in Jackson Hole and Star Valley should prepare for accumulations of 5 to 10 inches, with localized heavier snowfall near mountain ranges. Gusty winds of up to 30 mph could cause blowing snow, making travel challenging during the morning and evening commutes.

Five-Day Wyoming Forecast:

• Sunday Night: Light snow with lows around 24°F. Winds shifting east at 8-13 mph.

• Monday: 40% chance of snow with highs near 35°F. Winds north at 10 mph.

• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high of 31°F, with lighter winds.

• New Year’s Day: Partly sunny and colder, with a high near 27°F.

• Thursday: Clear skies, highs near 33°F.

Travelers are advised to check road conditions via the Wyoming Department of Transportation at wyoroad.info and remain cautious during outdoor activities.
