Cheyenne, WY – A major winter storm is set to impact southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle from Monday through Tuesday, bringing heavy snow, high winds, and hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, the Snowy Range and Sierra Madre Range could see between 10 and 15 inches of snow, with gusts up to 35 mph. The Laramie Valley, including Laramie and Bosler, may receive 2 to 5 inches, while the North Snowy Range Foothills could see 2 to 4 inches.

Blizzard-like conditions are possible in portions of Banner and Kimball counties in Nebraska, as well as Laramie County in Wyoming, where winds may gust up to 55 mph, significantly reducing visibility. Cheyenne County, NE, is also under a winter storm watch, with 2 to 5 inches of snow expected by Tuesday.

The storm is expected to make travel difficult to impossible, particularly on Interstates 80 and 25. Motorists are urged to delay travel if possible and use extreme caution if driving is necessary.

Residents should monitor updates and prepare for potential power outages and road closures. The storm is expected to taper off Tuesday evening, but lingering impacts may affect the Wednesday morning commute.
