Cheyenne, WY – Elevated fire risk and warm temperatures are expected to impact Cheyenne and surrounding areas this weekend. On Sunday, critical fire weather conditions return, posing heightened risks for wildfires due to gusty winds and dry conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, Red Flag Warnings will be in effect from 11 p.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Monday, with areas near I-80 and southeast Wyoming at the highest risk. Winds from the south will increase to 15-20 mph, and humidity levels will remain low, creating dangerous conditions. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and exercise caution with flammable materials.

Temperatures will climb to 87°F on Sunday, remaining above average for the season. Sunny skies will continue into next week, with highs cooling to around 69°F on Tuesday and 82°F on Wednesday. Winds will shift northwest, bringing breezy conditions Monday afternoon, with gusts up to 30 mph.
