Riverton, WY – Residents in Riverton are bracing for blustery conditions Thursday, with isolated snow showers and subzero wind chills forecasted. Temperatures are expected to dip to a low of -5°F tonight, with wind chill values plummeting to -15°F.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will bring sunny skies but harsh conditions, including brisk winds from the south-southeast. Patchy snow showers could create slick roadways, especially on U.S. Highway 26 and other major routes. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and allow extra travel time.

The high temperature Thursday will reach only 21°F, with winds at 5 to 8 mph keeping the region in a deep freeze. Snow showers are more likely Friday night into Saturday morning, with a 60% chance of precipitation expected. Accumulations are likely to remain light, but gusts up to 28 mph could create areas of blowing snow.

The weekend will offer no relief, with Saturday’s high reaching just 17°F and a low of -9°F overnight. By Sunday, conditions will improve slightly, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 14°F.

Residents are advised to bundle up in layers, limit outdoor exposure, and keep emergency supplies in vehicles due to the frigid temperatures and snow risks.
