According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, a Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from 6 a.m. Thursday to 12 p.m. Friday. Forecasters predict total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches with wind gusts reaching 45 mph across the Green Mountains, Rattlesnake Range, Wind River Basin, and Lander Foothills.

Commuters should prepare for difficult travel conditions Thursday morning and evening. U.S. Route 26 and surrounding roads could become slick and visibility may be reduced due to blowing snow. Local authorities advise checking road conditions via Wyoming DOT’s website before traveling.
