Riverton, WY – A late-season cold front will bring snow showers and gusty winds to Wyoming on Tuesday, potentially impacting travel along I-25 and surrounding areas. While snowfall is expected to be light to moderate, strong winds could create blowing snow and reduce visibility, particularly in open areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, snow showers will develop early Tuesday morning, continuing through midday before clearing in the afternoon. Winds will be out of the north at 11 to 21 mph, with gusts reaching 31 mph. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, especially on highways and higher elevations.

By Tuesday night, skies will clear, and temperatures will drop to a low of 18°F. Wednesday will bring a brief break from precipitation, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 49°F. However, another system is expected to move in by Thursday, bringing a 90% chance of snow showers and another round of gusty winds.

The extended forecast shows temperatures staying in the 30s and 40s through the week, with another potential snow event Thursday into Friday. Residents should stay updated on changing conditions, especially those planning travel on I-25, the Wind River Basin, and higher elevations.
