Cheyenne, WY – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for eastern Wyoming, with wind gusts up to 80 mph expected throughout Tuesday. The NWS predicts high-based convection will bring strong storms to the region.

According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, numerous severe wind gusts are likely, with isolated hail reaching 1 inch in diameter. The watch includes areas within 80 miles of a line stretching from Burlington, CO, to north of Torrington, WY.

Residents should stay informed and avoid unnecessary travel. The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. MDT. Emergency officials advise preparing for power outages and securing outdoor items.
