Cheyenne, WY – A Red Flag Warning is in effect today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for parts of southeastern Wyoming, including the North Snowy Range Foothills and the Southern Laramie Range. The National Weather Service warns that dry and windy conditions could lead to extreme fire behavior in these areas.
Winds from the west to northwest are expected to reach 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, and humidity levels will drop as low as 10 to 12 percent. These conditions create a high risk for rapid fire spread.
Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning during the warning period and take precautions to prevent fire starts.
