Cheyenne, Wyo. – Drivers along I-80 and I-25 in southeast Wyoming should brace for dangerously low visibility through noon Friday as dense fog blankets the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 12 p.m. MDT for much of Laramie and Platte Counties, including the I-80 Summit between Cheyenne and Laramie and the I-25 corridor from Chugwater to just south of Wheatland.
Cities under the advisory include Cheyenne, Pine Bluffs, Horse Creek, and Bordeaux. Visibility in some areas may fall below one mile, making morning commutes especially hazardous. Fog may continue to spread northward toward Wheatland through the morning.
Travelers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain safe following distances. The fog is especially dense near higher elevation zones and foothills, increasing the risk for sudden drops in visibility.
This is the fourth fog advisory issued this season in the Cheyenne area, with similar events in early March. Conditions are expected to gradually improve after noon, though more advisories are possible if moisture lingers in the area.
Warnings remain in effect through midday; drivers should check for updates before heading out.
