According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, the warning extends until 11 a.m. Wednesday, affecting recreational areas and major travel routes. A Winter Weather Advisory is also active for southwest Carbon County and the North Snowy Range Foothills, predicting snowfall of 2 to 5 inches in some areas. Officials advise against unnecessary travel and recommend keeping an emergency kit in vehicles.
Today, scattered snow showers are expected west of I-25, with temperatures ranging from 35 to 40 degrees. East of I-25, highs will reach 42 to 53 degrees. By Wednesday, most areas will experience cloudy skies and colder temperatures, with highs dropping to 29 to 35 degrees.
Thanksgiving Day will bring a welcome shift, with sunny skies and highs ranging from 29 to 39 degrees. Drivers should expect better travel conditions but remain cautious of icy patches. The warming trend will continue into Friday, with partly cloudy skies and highs near 36 degrees west of I-25 and up to 43 degrees east of it.
